Colour Perception

an optical illusion

The human eye is easily fooled. Which colour do you think is darker? Which of the inner rectangles is bigger?

Again, look at the cross on each side. The left appears a greeny brown to me, and the right a light cream - almost as light as the background for the left side. But if you look where they cross in the top middle you can see it is the same colour.

The point of this excercise is to show that even with the best colour representation and careful choosing, the way you interpret colours based on their surroundings and indeed other factors can be great.
